CHAPTER TEN
THE GIFTS OF MIRACLES AND OF CASTING OUT DEVILS

I Corinthians 12:9-10 - "To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the __________ of ______________ by the same Spirit; To another the ______________ of ________________; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:"

Although the ability to heal supernaturally is indeed a miracle in itself, scripture clearly points to the "gifts of healing" and the "working of miracles" as two different spiritual gifts. The gifts of healing will be dealt with in the next chapter.

Miracles Are Often Linked to or Identified as Signs

Acts 2:22 - "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by ________________ and ______________ and __________, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:"

Acts 8:13 - "Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the ________________ and __________ which were done."

II Corinthians 12:12 - "Truly the __________ of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in __________, and wonders, and mighty deeds."

Hebrews 2:3-4 - " How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with __________ and ______________, and with divers _________________, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?"

What Does the Gift of the Working of Miracles Include?

The gift of the working of miracles appears to include all of those miracles that are not specifically identified as sign gifts in their own right. Thus, this gift would include the ability to work a number of different miracles identified in scripture with the exception of miraculous healings and speaking in tongues (and by inference the interpretation of tongues). Healing and tongues are clearly identified as gifts in their own right according to I Corinthians chapter twelve.

A) The Miracles of Mark Chapter Sixteen

Mark 16:17-18 - "And these __________ shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they ________ out __________; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall ________ up __________________; and if they __________ any ____________ thing, it shall not ________ them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

All five of these items are identified in the passage "signs." Two of these items are identified by Paul in I Corinthians chapter twelve as gifts in their own right - the gifts of healing.
